Scenario

The TV series, the action of which takes place in the universe “Dune”, in the center of which is the life of the Bene Gesserit. Whether they’re exploring stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world better, these women are what science fiction is all about. This series may be based on the novel Dune Sisterhood by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. A prequel to the original Dune, this is the first of the Great Schools of Dune trilogy, which tells how the Sisterhood of Rossak became the Bene Gesserit.

But the pace?

Let’s make this review nice and neat, shall we? No spoilers – I wouldn’t want to spoil the secret for you. Now the story itself, well, is quite suitable. Nothing to write home about. Quite sluggish, I must say.

As for the production, well, it’s a bit mixed

Sometimes it’s a bit tiring, like trying to wade through a downpour in rubber boots that are a bit tight. I’m afraid the drama doesn’t quite ignite the world, although there are a few select moments that manage to attract attention. It doesn’t scream “high class”, rather, it’s a budget imitation of what you’d expect from the big league. Nevertheless, all this is quite competent, although, of course, not a masterpiece. But let’s not be too strict – here is a wonderful acting, especially from Tabu.

So, would I recommend it?

This woman is a real gem, a first-rate actor who brings a certain gravitas that the rest of the production could hardly use. Cinematography and music, alas, are a little disappointing compared to “Dune”. They do not blind and do not linger in the memory. Direction? Well, it does its job, but it doesn’t spin gold, if you know what I mean.

If you can’t wait to uncover the backstory and see how it all started, be sure to watch it. Just don’t expect fireworks – rather, a few sparklers on a vapor evening. Better watch the Indian mini-series “BRINDA”, which may be low-budget, but rich with an intriguing narrative and realistic acting by the actors. The new season of Silo is one of the biggest premieres on television and streaming this month.
